What does a bird have to do with HR Consulting? Plenty! Jamii Pae’s logo is based on Sankofa (pronounced SAHN-koh-fah), a word from the Akan tribe in Ghana and depicts a mythical bird flying forward with its head turned backward while carrying a precious egg. Sankofa means “go back and get it” or “go back to the past and bring forward that which is useful.” While it’s never useful to live in the past, it is a great tool to understand how we got to the present and identify an informed path forward. Jamii Pae Consulting specializes in equity centered, strategic human resource assessment and consultation. This work includes looking at an organization’s culture to understand where it’s been then developing a road map to a more equitable and inclusive workplace.
